Who this policy covers
Southern Shield Cyber is an Australian cyber security firm. This policy describes how we handle personal information collected through this website and through enquiries you send us. It is written for people in Australia and follows the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Questions about this policy can be sent to briefings@southernshield.cyber.

What this website collects
This is a static website. It has no account, no shopping cart, and no mailing list. We do not run analytics, advertising tags, or cookies of our own to follow you from page to page.
The network that serves the site may keep ordinary connection logs, such as an IP address, the time of a request, and the page requested. Those logs are for security and reliability. We do not use them to build a profile of visitors.
03
The contact form
The contact form runs in your browser. It checks that a name, a work email, an organisation, a sector, and at least one service are present. It does not send that information to our servers, and it does not store it on this site.
“Prepare your message” keeps the note on the page and, where your browser allows it, copies it to your clipboard. “Open in email” opens your own email application with the note addressed to briefings@southernshield.cyber. Until you send that email, we do not receive it.
04
What we receive by email
If you email us, we receive the address you write from and the contents of the message. A note prepared on this site includes your name, work email, organisation, sector, timing, the services you selected, and anything you wrote in the free-text field.
We use that information to reply, to decide whether we can help, and, if you proceed, to scope an engagement. We do not sell personal information. Writing to us does not add you to a marketing list.
05
Engagements
If we work together, the statement of work sets out what information we need, who may see it, and how it is handled. Do not include passwords, secrets, or classified material in a website enquiry.
We deliver onshore, in Australia. We do not transfer personal information received through this site to a recipient outside Australia as a matter of course. If an engagement would require that, we will tell you before it happens.
06
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a record of what was asked. Records of an engagement are kept for the period in the statement of work, and for as long as Australian law requires. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
07
Access, correction, and complaints
You may ask what personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it, by writing to briefings@southernshield.cyber. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
